Sunday chilled.
Cold out early A.M.
Loving the warmth
Of my blankets
I thought to call you,
Before I thought to brush my teeth
Or get out of bed.
‘Good Morning,’ you said.
You were on your way to school
But I was able to convince you otherwise
‘Be a good Christian and rest this Sabbath.’
You came over,
We chilled &smoked
Chair pulled up next to mine
We puffed &talked &beat the high score-
Sat in silence &it felt ok.
You kept your jacket on
Cause the furnace wasn’t working
But I was so happy to be rid of the summer heat
That I sat in shorts and a t-shirt
Feeling the morning breeze
And enjoying my high.
Just a lazy Sunday
Spent among friends
Still the moment lingers
Loving the warmth
Of my blankets
I thought to call you,
Before I thought to brush my teeth
Or get out of bed.
‘Good Morning,’ you said.
You were on your way to school
But I was able to convince you otherwise
‘Be a good Christian and rest this Sabbath.’
You came over,

But I was so happy to be rid of the summer heat

Feeling the morning breeze
And enjoying my high.
Just a lazy Sunday
Spent among friends
Still the moment lingers
